# How to handle internet disconnection during assessment?

If the internet disconnects during the assessment, follow these steps:

* **Do not close the browser tab.** Closing the tab may affect your test progress.
* Switch your internet connection — if you're on Wi-Fi, switch to a mobile hotspot, or vice versa.
* Once reconnected, the test will resume from where you left off in the same browser session.
* If needed, reload the page once to resume.

||| If you reconnect using the same test link within **30 minutes** and in the **same browser session**, you may continue the test. However, the **timer will continue running in the background** during the disconnection. When you return, you will be required to submit the current section with whatever responses were completed before proceeding to the next section.
