How to connect Xobin MCP to ChatGPT?
ChatGPT connects to remote MCP servers over HTTPS and requires a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education). Workspace admins may need to enable Developer Mode or custom connectors first.
Note: Before proceeding, make sure you have reviewed the prerequisites and connection values in Connecting Xobin to AI Assistants via MCP.
Setup Steps:
- Open ChatGPT on the web.
- Go to Settings → Security and Login and turn on Developer Mode.

- Go to Settings → Plugins (or visit chatgpt.com/plugins).

- Click + and create a developer-mode app:
- Name: Xobin
- Description: Hiring evidence, assessments, AI interviews, and recruiting workflows from Xobin.
- MCP Server URL: https://{mcp.xobin.com}/mcp
- Select OAuth. Do not enter a Xobin API key — leave Client ID and Secret empty so ChatGPT can self-register.

- Create the connection, sign in to Xobin, and approve access.

Using It in a Chat:
- Open a new chat.
- Click +.
- Scroll down and select the Xobin app.

- Confirm any write actions before they run.
Example prompt: "Use Xobin to find candidates for our Senior Product Analyst role who show SQL and experimentation evidence, then draft an AI interview invite for the top two. Do not send invites until I confirm."
Confirming the Connection
- Test the connection with: "Using Xobin, what job tracks are open, and how many candidates are in each?"
- Then test a write action you can safely review: "Draft (do not send) an assessment invitation for a candidate I name."
Troubleshooting
- ChatGPT asks for a Client ID.
Leave this field empty — Xobin supports dynamic client registration.
- Connector saves but tools fail to load.
Open the app under Plugins and click Refresh after Xobin updates the server.
